Hello Friends,
The PEPE TALK event calendar for September has been announced. I have scheduled a great lineup of talent this coming fall season beginning with Italian Wine Specialist Thomas Koehorst, who will lead us through a special tasting of Antinori wines. Next up on the calendar is Jewish Food Expert Jane Marcus. Jane is visiting us from Miami and will showcase her recipes of Jewish Holiday fare, just in time for Rosh Hashanah. There are many other wonderful local chefs that will share their talent with us this year, along with P?PE TALK regulars like Yoichi Saito of Roy’s, and our own Arturo Moscoso of P?ppoli.

P?PE TALK is meant to be informative, interactive, and fun...but most of all delicious! At P?PE TALK it’s eat, drink, and be merry...laugh a little and learn a lot. The class - really “party” is a better description - will sell out quickly as space is very limited, so if you are interested it is best to reserve early.

P?PE TALK host Rich P?pe presents with Italian Wine Specialist Thomas Koehorst, one of the leading Italian wine experts and educators in the country.

In Italy, the Antinori family has lead a “Renaissance” in wine making and has helped popularize Italian wines worldwide. Thomas Koehorst will lead us through a tasting of Antinori’s Chianti Classicos to Super Tuscans, to dessert wines. Chef P?pe will create an assortment of antipasti and primi in the style of his Carmel-by-the-Sea restaurant Little Napoli to pair perfectly with the wines.

Though Jane’s rich assemblage of holiday recipes she will bring the joy and festivity of Jewish holiday cooking to P?PE TALK in a light-hearted, entertaining style.

Jane delivers her recipes from a folkloric-cultural perspective, and
this is how holiday cooking should be - warm, welcoming, and straight from the heart.

Throughout Rosh Hashanah no bitter or sour food is eaten. Sweet food is eaten throughout this holiday, symbolizing the desire to have a new year filled with sweetness. Remember to bring your appetite for this event, for as you know, no one goes away hungry from the Jewish table!!!
